There’s nothing like cooking a full meal for the family… gathering everyone together… and sitting down around the coffee table while binge-watching Netflix.

Romance is alive and well. 😂

According to a survey of 30,000 people worldwide, the average dinner time is 6:44 P.M. ⏰ And we typically spend about 27 minutes eating.

But where we’re eating? That’s where things get interesting 👀

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 🪑 44% eat at a kitchen table

  • 🍽️ 34% eat at a dining room table

  • 📺 25% eat at a table in the living room

  • 🛋️ 18% eat on the COUCH

  • 🧍‍♂️ 4% eat while standing in the kitchen

  • 🛏️ 4% eat in BED

Yes. In. Bed.

And before you assume it’s just grandma with her stories and a TV tray… think again.

Gen Z is about TWICE as likely to say they eat dinner in bed. 🫠

On top of that:

  • 📺 40% of people watch TV while eating with others in their household

  • 🎬 15% watch TV while eating — even when guests are over

  • 📵 Only 7% say their kitchen table is a true “device-free zone”

Seven percent?! That means almost everyone else has a phone, tablet, laptop, or TV involved in dinner somehow.

So the real question is…

Is eating on the couch just modern comfort? Or are we slowly killing the “family dinner” vibe? 🍝💀

And if someone invites you over for dinner and serves you on the couch… is that chill or disrespectful?

Let’s hear it. Are you Team Table or Team Couch? 👇
