Now this is one way to get attention.

A county commission meeting in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, took a turn straight out of a prank show Tuesday when someone decided to release live bugs into the room mid-meeting.

Yep—actual insects crawling and flying through the government chambers.

Officials didn’t reveal what kind of bugs they were or why this person decided to pull off a surprise pest drop, but it caused a quick disruption. Security swiftly removed the individual, and fortunately, no one was hurt.

The meeting resumed after things were, well… contained.

There’s no word yet on charges, or whether it’s technically illegal to unleash creepy-crawlies during a government meeting, but it definitely made a point—whatever that point was supposed to be.

We’ve seen mic drops before, but bug drops? That’s new.
