Here are a few things to look forward to this December.

1. Sports Extravaganza: Get ready for an action-packed month in sports! College football enthusiasts can mark December 16th on their calendars as the bowl games kick off. But that's not all – brace yourself for a flurry of NFL, NBA, and NHL games that will keep sports fans on the edge of their seats throughout the month.

2. Cinematic Delights: December promises a cinematic feast with a diverse array of releases. Eddie Murphy's holiday film, "Candy Cane Lane," is now streaming on Prime Video. On December 13th, catch "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" on-demand. Netflix unveils the Julia Roberts thriller, "Leave the World Behind," on the following Friday. Theaters will also light up with the debut of "Wonka" starring Timothée Chalamet on the 15th, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" and "Migration" on the 22nd, and the Christmas Day premieres of "Ferrari" and the new musical adaptation of "The Color Purple" starring Adam Driver.

3. TV Show Extravaganza: TV lovers are in for a treat as the final six episodes of "The Crown" premiere on Netflix on December 14th. Disney+ is not far behind with three new "Doctor Who" specials, releasing one tomorrow and another next Saturday, followed by a Christmas special on the 25th. The holiday spirit continues with festive specials such as "The Great British Baking Show: Holidays" on December 15th and the National Christmas Tree Lighting special on CBS.

(Fun Fact: The National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony faced a windy surprise two days ago when the tree got blown down by high winds.)

4. Festive Celebrations: Of course, December is synonymous with the holidays! Christmas, Hanukkah (from the 7th to the 15th), and Kwanzaa (starting on December 26th) take center stage. Additionally, mark your calendars for National Cookie Day on Monday, National Ice Cream Day on the 13th, Ugly Sweater Day on the 15th, the first official day of winter on December 21st, Festivus on the 23rd, and the grand farewell to 2023 on New Year's Eve, the 31st.
